  1. With respect to  Rural Entrepreneurship Development Programmes ( REDPs )  and  Skill Oriented Trainings, the candidates in the age group of  18-35 years  having at least the relevant minimum education and right aptitude; are selected through personal interviews.  Bank  Managers  are also involved in screening the candidates, so as to ensure that  scope exists for selected activity in the area.

  2. For  Agricultural and Other Training Programs  Govt. Departments, Bank branches, VVV Clubs  may sponsor the candidates, for whom formal education is not a must.

Andhra Bank is pioneer in introducing many  innovative Rural Development measures since its inception. Andhra Bank Rural Development Trust ( ABRDT )was established by the Bank in the year 1989, as a tribute to the first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on the eve of his birth Centenary. This Trust has been established to extend rural service beyond basic banking. The Trust was established  with a rationale of - Complementing the financial assistance provided by the Bank to rural people with technical assistance and livelihood enhancement.

  • Take up various rural development measures which will eventually help in reducing the migration of rural people to urban areas.
  • Carrying out  various rural development activities designed  for the purpose through the vast net work of Bank branches.

These trainings are aimed at molding the unemployed youth into prospective entrepreneurs. In addition to  imparting good technical skills in trades having current market demand, the programs also inculcate entrepreneurial qualities in the trainees. All efforts are made to prepare the trainees to become first generation entrepreneurs who can run the micro enterprises profitably.

These programs emphasize on latest techniques of maximizing crop production; reduction in cost of cultivation; good quality agri produce and post harvest care. They are conducted both as residential trainings and as one day programs at village level itself. Farmers are taken on exposure visits to live projects/ research centers and are provided with reading material. As such, these trainings provide the link between the technical know-how and the field level do-how for the farming community.

This program aims at improving entrepreneurial qualities like opportunity sensing, risk perception and minimization, self motivation, salesmanship, market analysis and capturing, customer care and retention, book keeping etc. among unemployed youth; as these are vital for making small business/ service units successful. This training is given to  candidates selected for assistance under PMRY,  as a regular activity.
